Members serve as tutors and mentors, creating volunteer opportunities for students and community members, as well as having the opportunity to partner with classroom teachers and program staff in order to enhance core curriculum and create innovative learning environments. Members serve from September to the end of July in schools and non-profits in Chicago. In their year of service, members must serve a minimum of 1700 hours. Our three goals include getting things done, community strengthening, and member development.
- Project YES! Members organize and implement educational activities to enhance or support core curriculum at each school site.
- Project YES! Members increase volunteerism in the community via youth and adult participation in service projects.
- Project YES! Members participate in Member Trainings, workshops, and lectures once a week.
